1. Seconds afterwards the airship's control cabin hit the jagged ice and smashed open. 2. The field units of control cabins and engines stands were removed. 3. Originally 42 test cells with 21 control cabins were envisaged. 4. The passenger spaces and control cabin were within the keel. 5. They indicate the positions where each engine stand and its respective control cabin would have stood. 6. Three engine gondolas and the separate control cabin were attached to the bottom of the keel. 7. This was fixed to the front of a control cabin and the whole apparatus was rotated electrically. 8. Access to the dual control cabin , which has overhead transparencies, is via top-hinged doors on each side. 9. Each comprised one fully equipped control cabin and two barrel type engine stands on four circular legs. 10. Soon plastic became used also in front wings as well as forward control cabin internal engine covers and dashboards.
